October Festival (re-edited)

Ha-zaa D'bosthabos is RavenBlack City's October Festival of the Undead.
It is a citywide month-long event in which the residents of RavenBlack City
are invited to celebrate their immortality – bacchanalian style.
Heavy blood consumption and blood drinking in various pubs and taverns
(including The Sanguinarium) is strongly encouraged.
Bloodletting, by way of vampire hunters, and blood shed, however, is kind of frowned upon.
(Psst, it's a time to have fun and partake in merriment and such! No fighting!)

Dandelions (among other things) are given out during the festival.
Dandelions symbolizes the Oracle of Time and Love.
It is also a symbol of hope and happiness.
Dandelions also stand for wishes coming true
which is why it is a perfect "gift" to give out.

May all your dreams and wishes come true!
Ha-zaa D'bosthabos to you!

The festivities begin on the first day of October and ends right after Halloween (October 31st).

During the month of October Devil Miyu and the Lost In Shadows vampire community will be hosting its annual, month-long celebration of Ha-zaa D'bosthabos offering a variety of activities that everyone in RavenBlack's City can participate in.

This year, the activities offered are the following:

1. Around The Campfire <--click on that
- Post a comment here to tell us your own ghost story (real or made up)

2. Pumpkin Carving Contest <--click on that
- Post a screenshot of your carved virtual pumpkin

3. Only A Vampire Can Love You....Eternally <--click on that
- Various "couples" only activities. That means, you + someone else.
Not necessarily your in-game partner. Pick a friend to do this with.

4. Fun For All <--click on that (This section has been edited)
- Come one, come all. No need to do anything except to just show up and hang around!

Participants will receive various prizes, trinkets, treats, livejournal virtual gifts, in-game coins and other stuff.

So come and join the celebration. Just because we're dead, doesn't mean we can't liven up the place.

~Devil Miyu

Edit:
Outside of RavenBlack's vampire game...
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month here in the United States. Because of that, for every new member that joins the Lost In Shadows lj-community, I will personally donate $2.00 to The National Breast Cancer Foundation.

October is also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month here in the United States. So for every person who signs up to become a new member of this community, I will donate an hour of my time to volunteer at Salt Lake City YWCA.

I will be donating on behalf of everyone here in LiS and on behalf of my family. It's fun to receive things. But it's so much better to give and to be giving.

Last but not least though, October is also LGBT History Month. While there's really nothing I can do by way of donation and volunteer for this one (other than hang out with my gay and lesbian friends and give them my support), I would like to say that we shouldn't judge people base on their sexuality and who they choose to love. That's just my opinion and that's all I have to say about that.

Take care, everyone. Be well and be safe.
